DRASTICALLY REDUCED!! DISCOUNT SALES ON ALL MY PAINTINGS!!
Mahto Hogue was born and raised in Texas but has always admired the colors and ambiance of the Southwest, especially Native Americans and their home style and customs.
He has been interested and involved in art since an early age. Instead of wanting toys for gifts, he asked for an easel and art supplies.
He is a self taught artist, studying color, composition and anatomy. He is inspired by the Old Masters and the Modern Masters, (Norman Rockwell, Andrew Wyeth and Daniel Greene). He also was a commercial artist illustrator.
THIS IS THE TIME TO ORDER PAINTINGS FOR MOTHERS DAY , it will be here before we know it, order now.
He was the featured Artist of the Month, at The Petroleum Club, 777 Main St., 40th floor, Fort Worth Texas in July 2009, which was very good, I sold three paintngs. I also have a web site www.mahtohogue.com if you would like to view more paintings.
Mahto visited the 4 Corners area in the late 1980's and fell in love with the area. He has retired, done some traveling, especially the 4 Corners area and has now settled in Azle, Texas, to pursue his art career.
Medias include acrylics, oil, pastels, charcoals and pen and ink. He favors the oils because he achieves the perfection of the colors he desires, to accomplish the reality of the subject, which shows in all of his art works.
In September, 2008, he was honored to win some awards at Mid Cities Juried Show in Hurst Texas. Awards were for Best of Show and First Place, with the painting, The Scarf , in the oil division and second palce in pastels with the Biker with Kitten. Since then, he has won numerous awards in different shows.
Year 2010 has been a very busy year, Mahto recently won PEOPLE'S CHOICE award (Helping Hand), First place with Apache Dancer, Painting of the year with charcoal, plus more.
Mahto is now teaching private classes.
Mahto is searching for a gallery to display and sell his paintings, and possibly an art broker. He is also accepting commissions.
He has done numerous commissions of people, pets and vehicles, and when not doing commissions, he concentrates on what he enjoys most, and that is the Native Americans and their home styles. His work shows his dedication, discipline and execution to Fine Art.
Mahto will be doing a workshop July 30 and July 31, 2011 in Bedford Tx.,, The workshop will be 'DRAWING A PORTRAIT', there will be a live model. Cost is $175 if you are a Trinity Art Guild member and $225.00 for non-members.
The workshop was very successful.
In August, 2011, Mahto won 2nd place with his painting 'Lori's Violin'.
He is accepting commissions.
